Make Up Revolution ‘Midnight Unicorn’ eyeshadow palette review

product review

Forever an advocate for amazing budget beauty; Make Up Revolution have been absolutely killing the game recently. Launching cult highlighters, lip kits to rival Miss Jenner…and now this amazingly pigmented Eyeshadow Palette.

It certainly looks the part! With 16 colourful shades, there really is a myriad of looks you could create using this palette. The blurb claims that the shadows are heavily pigmented, and suited for professional and SFX use.

So does it perform as great as it looks?

The performance (da da daaaaa!)

I decided to use the palette for the first time on my birthday weekend (great excuse to go OTT with the eye Make up). The colours are as vibrant as they appear in the palette, and they are super easy to blend. I used the pink and black shades, and they lasted 8 hours of drinking cocktails, formidable English rain and a rather humid sushi restaurant. It’s fair to say they got staying power. My only criticism would be the standard brush that comes with the palette is quite hard, it’s stiff and it makes application awkward. I used another of my brushes and they blended nicely.

Overall 9/10

I actually can’t pick any faults with this palette. And the fact that I am over excited to get the chance to use it again, really accentuates how fab it is! And you know the best best best part? It’s only £6 😱

If you don’t buy it, I will seriously have to question your sanity.

Is it worth investing in a liquid highlighter / Illuminator?

new trend, product review

All over my Instagram and further afield, I have picked up on everybody’s Illuminator drops obsession. So I decided to see what all the hype was about. I’ve purchased Collection’s illuminating touch liquid radiance, which retails at £5.99.

I love reviewing budget brand products, because the feeling of satisfaction when you discover a new cult product – or better still, a brill dupe, is amazing.
The collection illuminating touch comes in a pump bottle (I was hoping to find drops but nevermind), and contains gold pearl.

I was completely under the impression that liquid highlighters were that bit more pigmented, and that was probably the fundamental reason I purchased this. I used it as I would my normal powder highlighter, it’s easier to glide on, being fluid. It’s not as gold or as pigmented as I would have liked (I like to shine to the high heavens). But it is buildable; you got to give it a minute to dry, then you can view its luminous qualities.

I layered it with my usual powder highlighter and it worked a treat. It’s safe to say that my everyday Primark highlighter is not going to be replaced. However, this product is great for those who want a natural dewy glow, and because it’s liquid it will last forever.

Happy glowing! 💦

The £3.99 product you need before Christmas

product review

For months I have searched high and low for the ultimate concealer. For without concealer I am merely an ugly panda with black rimmed eyes, ready to pounce. Such has been a very difficult task; I’ve ended up with watery concoctions along the way, highlighters with zero coverage, followed by various days where I look like a complete make up rookie with so much cake under my eyes even a bakery would be envious.

But finally the time has come where I have found the ultimate in concealing genius. This concealer gives even coverage, coverage which lasts allllllll day (and when I say all day I mean right through my 11 hour shift and beyond), a realistic colour & it’s cheap af. Who can argue with that??

I had been recommended collections concealer (available in Superdrug) by a good friend a while back. But in all honesty, I never believed that a £3.99 concealer would change my life the way it has.

If you get one thing for yourself this Christmas. Make sure it is this concealer, it will take you through Christmas parties, dates, New Years clubbing. This baby is ready to take on anything life throws at it. Happy concealing girls!
P.s mine is shake 2, cool medium and is perfect for hiding dark circles and imperfections
